# Kisspeptin reading list

> Reading list — Omni Men's Health — The Omni Men's Health reading list brings together kisspeptin studies on discovery, hormonal timing, sexual desire, appetite, anxiety and bone.

A few useful entry points, followed by the individual source records.

## Read by subject

For desire, the most direct starting point is the [trial in men with hypoactive sexual desire disorder](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36735255/). Beside it, the [attraction-cue experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32051344/) gives a different approach to brain processing. Those are my opening pair for a closer look at libido.

For hormone timing, read the [experiment on resetting the GnRH clock in men](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21470997/) alongside the [report of a fading LH response during repeated administration in women with hypothalamic amenorrhea](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19820030/). The change in population is essential.

For the broader questions, begin with [anxiety](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40036336/), [food intake in women with overweight or obesity](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37039248/) or [bone markers in healthy men](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35244717/). A concrete experiment is my preferred doorway into the subject.

## The clinical-status review

The [systematic review of current clinical status](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38265397/) was published in 2025 and identified 29 interventional trials from databases searched through February 2023. Its account of regulatory status and its search window need to travel together.

The reading list ranges from human trials to the cellular and animal experiments discussed in the essays.
